Containership Collison Baltimore Bridge Collapse

With reference to the ocean vessel accident that happened early Tuesday, 26 March U.S. East coast time, of the Maersk chartered container vessel M/V DALI collision with Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore. Please be informed that there were no MWL and MCS cargo shipments affected.

The accident has resulted to the collapsed and serious damage to the Francis Scott Key bridge structure. Authorities have given notice that it will not be possible to reach the Helen Delich Bentley port of Baltimore, and that the to-and-from passage to the port will remain closed. This should include the surrounding water area and roadside traffic passage through the bridge. In line with this, all water passage services will be omitting Baltimore until deemed safe to pass through the area. For cargos that are already on water set for Baltimore, shipping lines are now compelled to omit the port and will likely discharge cargo in nearby ports or utilize landside transportation to reach final destination. We will continue to monitor the carrier activities.
